Across CIMIC Group, our shared Principles and the Code of Conduct are integral to our approach to business. They guide the way we work every day, set our standard of expected behaviour and mean we can rely on each other for Integrity, Accountability, Innovation and Delivery, and to put Safety first in everything we do.

We want everyone to feel confident to raise concerns about any inappropriate behaviour.

Our Whistleblower Policy, Code and procedures have been refreshed to comply with recently updated Australian Federal Laws, and apply across the Group.

  • A person who raises a concern (a disclosure) in good faith will not be disadvantaged and must not be victimised
  • Whistleblowers can remain anonymous and can expect their identity and the confidentiality of any disclosure to be protected
  • Managers and supervisors have an obligation to refer disclosures to the authorised Business Conduct Representative (BCR) and protect the whistleblower’s identity and confidentiality
  • All disclosures are referred to the authorised BCR who will ensure they are investigated appropriately, promptly and confidentially.

Who can I contact if I have a concern?

If you become aware of behaviour that breaches our Principles or Code of Conduct discuss it at the earliest opportunity with your supervisor/manager.

In some circumstances you may prefer to speak to someone other than your supervisor/manager and if so, you can contact:

  • Your supervisor/manager’s manager
  • Your Business Conduct Representative
  • The Ethics Line – an independent service available 24 hours a day, seven days a week provided by Stopline, Australia’s leading provider of disclosure management services. Click here for contact details.

What can be reported?

Behaviour that is contrary to our Code of Conduct or Principles can be reported. Examples may include, but are not limited to:

  • Fraud, theft or misuse of company assets
  • Bribery, corruption, illegal behaviour or wrong-doing
  • Victimisation.

What should I do if a concern is raised with me?

If you are a manager, supervisor, or lead team members you may have a concern raised with you and need to be aware of your obligations under the new legislation and our policy.

Our Code of Conduct – Management, Monitoring and Reporting Policy provides a guide on how to comply with our Whistleblower Policy, including how to protect the whistleblower, manage the disclosure and refer the disclosure to the BCR for investigation.
