Quarter one is progressing rapidly, and in recent weeks I have enjoyed meeting more and more teams across the Group, including visits to Thiess and Sedgman, and to the UGL One HSE Culture Summit.

My message to those I’ve met, and to those I hope to meet with, is that our priorities this year continue to focus on safety, operational excellence and our people – all areas that ensure, year-on-year, we are building a sustainable business.

Safeguarding ourselves and our teammates, nurturing our inclusive culture, and developing our skills are all key to our future. Ultimately, it is our shared Principles and the performance of our talented people that underpin our results and sustain our position as a leading company.

This edition of Pulse shares some great examples of our teams putting safety first, supporting clients with engineering excellence, successfully managing risk, adding value and optimising outcomes. These include UGL’s support to the Royal Australian Navy, Thiess’ successful global fleet relocation and Sedgman’s safety initiative at Pumpkin Hollow. All are examples of Integrity, Accountability, Innovation and Delivery, underpinned by a commitment to Safety.

I’m also really pleased to be joining our International Women’s Day celebrations. I’m committed to increasing the participation of women across our Group and believe equality and pay equity for everyone is a matter of fairness and integrity. It’s essential for building a diverse and truly inclusive workplace and a cornerstone for making our business stronger.

We all shape our teams and workplaces and play an important role in making sure everyone is safe and supported in their work.
